Name: Jung Yoojin
Tent Assignment: #24 (Apple Green)
Home Island Cottage Assignment: #375
Skill: Chaos Manipulation.
- Yoojin has the unfortunate and odd ability to create chaos with her moods and this can range from something as small as breaking a glass window with a whimper or causing a power outage with a tantrum. She can control the ability only temporarily in times when she has a clear mind, but she is often reckless and unable to hold onto her emotional stability.
Member Status: She’s been at the circus for six months.
Performance Details: She hopes to become a sideshow act when she figures out how to control her ability, but she’s currently just working concessions or selling tickets. It’s safer that way.
Background: Yoojin was born into a happy middle class family, the younger sister of a talented athlete, who she looked up to throughout her childhood. She had a mediocre education and floated along with passing grades, but she was never celebrated by her parents like her older sibling, which caused her to often idolize him. Unfortunately, he never paid much attention to her, which caused her to throw childlike tantrums.
As Yoojin grew older, bad luck seemed to follow her wherever she went and it was particularly bad when she hit puberty, her pre menstrual mood swings often resulting in power outages in her home and a dead phone line, in which her parents found great annoyance. When her parents began to expect that their youngest child was the cause of all of the small mishaps in the house, they began looking for ways to get her out of the home, researching boarding schools and even giving her the option to move in with her grandparents, whom she loved to visit.
Yoojin didn’t have any desire to leave her family because she had developed an unnatural attachment to her older brother and often fantasized about him, paying no mind to any of the boys in her classes. Her romantic attraction to her sibling caused her mental stability to fall even further into disarray and she finally decided to confess her feelings to him, throwing herself onto her knees in front of him and offering her virginity in a pathetic attempt at winning his love. When he refused her affection and tried to comfort the ball of emotions that was Yoojin, she completely lost control and her outburst caused a neighborhood-wide power outage.
After the mishap with her brother, her parents decided to take the family on a small trip to visit a circus, convincing Yoojin that it would make her feel better. She reluctantly agreed and tagged along. Once there, she found great joy in the show and became very interested in all of the oddities, which played right into her parents’ plan. Without much explanation, her parents left her to the care of the circus—an agreement that they made before arriving.
Personality: Yoojin is the average bubbly eighteen year old who enjoys blogging, social networking, and the idea of love. She is often clingy to the people that show her attention and after the absence of her family, she seeks out bonds and throws herself at anyone that looks in her direction, as she is desperate to be needed and wanted—something that she never felt when she was in her home.
In most situations, Yoojin is talkative and carefree, but she can switch modes in the blink of an eye, a simple miscommunication throwing her into a swirl of exaggerated emotion. She is easy to cry and even easier to throw a punch when she feels that she is slightly threatened by anyone. This can make it hard for anyone to stay around, but she will often blame it on mental illness and guilt people into looking after her, because she doesn’t have the maturity to look after herself.
